About Us

At FarWest Consulting, our goal is to help the world learn English. We are doing this by offering customized material that is entertaining and useful. We also offer a Premium Teaching Service to Corporations and Private students. Read a list of our Services below. We believe that English is becoming the global second language. Within our lifetime, everyone on Earth could be communicating with a common language, working together in business and academics using English. Click here for more English statistics. Starting in 2005, FarWest began developing free English material. We learned about Why English Training Fails and developed the FarWest Method to overcome these problems. We also developed over 500 pages of Material to address specific Goals and Gaps. We are happy to offer this for free personal use on our site. Click here to read our usage policy. Our experience extends to a variety of sectors and industries in Taiwan, including finance, technology, and import-export. We have assisted large corporate clients, including New York Life Insurance, HSBC, Family Mart Taiwan, Taiwan Semiconductor, Yahoo Taiwan and TaiShin Bank to name a few. In the education sector, we have helped over 1000 students successfully complete academic examinations such as the TOEFL, IELTS, TOIEC, GRE, and the GMAT. Dave Germain has majors in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Before doing language training in Taiwan, Dave worked in Information Security for several major Canadian banks. Paul Santone has a degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Before coming to Taiwan, Paul did sociological and psychological research for hospitals in Ontario. Since 2003, he has been working in the ESL industry in Taiwan. During that time, he has written and published English curriculum, trained many professionals, from small to large companies, both local and international.
